Saving That Sweater for a Winter Day 2020
Good Day Everyone,
I got this idea while scouring through and purging my things gone crazy. I am nearing my retirement years and I think about whether I will have the ability to buy the things I may need 10 or 20 years from now. Silly things like underwear, or towels, or shampoo. Admittedly, there isn’t a huge nest egg waiting for me down the road. A moderate retirement pension from one job will somewhat keep be afloat, but the unknown always lurks. So, as I am sorting through and cleaning away things that I just don’t need right now, I ask myself – will I need this in a year or five? And if the answer is ‘YES’ then it goes into a clear plastic tote. Sweaters, shirts, pants that are in great shape and were given to me to boot!! They all go into the tote and somewhere in the future I can go ‘shopping” in the basement and get some new clothes.
Clear Bins are the Key
Using clear bins so I can see what is inside will make it easier when I go ‘shopping’ in the future. When I finally wear out that special sweater, you know the one with the pockets and the nice, comfy fit, I can replace it simply by finding another one just like it. And at the time, maybe 4 or 5 years from now, I will be glad I didn’t give it away!
Love to all,
Patricia
